Brick Mayor Lisa Crate helped count down the moment when the doors opened at 8 a.m. Thursday, April 6, for the very first time. There was a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Wawa’s mascot Wally Goose,
Customers enjoyed free coffee. Additional promotions and discounts continue through Sunday, April 9, Wawa officials said.
Wawa also recognized local first responders with its signature Hoagies for Heroes hoagie-building competition. Local first responders from Brick Township Police Department and Herbertsville participated. Wawa presented $1,000 checks to each department’s charity of choice.
Anthony Rao will serve as general manager of the new Brick Wawa store.
